General : The Bricasti M3 is the latest DA converter from Bricasti USA

Housing : Bricasti USA has understood very well that vibrations in electronic equipment can completely change the functioning of components and thus affect sound quality. Every unit that Bricasti makes is therefore made of vibration-free aluminum parts, which are precisely cut to size by the CNC milling machine. Not only the beautiful front, but all other housing parts of the M3 are CNC milled. This guarantees a very sturdy, stable and vibration-free housing in which the electronic components do exactly what they should do.

Power Supply : The components used in the Bricasti M3 are all of top quality. For example, there is a dual power supply on board with 2 transformers and many separate power lines. One power circuit is for all digital components and another power circuit is exclusively for the analog electronics. The power supplies are linear, not switched. The linear and discretely regulated power supplies still sound better than the switched power supplies according to Bricasti.

D/A Conversion : The D/A conversion in the Bricasti M3 is done by means of 2 completely separate circuits. All PCM signals are upsampled and converted by a very precise 24 bit ADI 1955 Delta Sigma PCM DA Converter, with a very precise 8ps clock. PCM signals remain PCM signals and are therefore not converted to DSD. Converting to DSD may seem nice and is commercially attractive, but it comes at the expense of the purity of the signal. For DSD, the Bricasti M3 has Bricasti's own discrete 1 bit pure analog DSD converter built in. This DSD conversion is the best possible way to convert DSD signals and is sonically unmatched. If you wish, you can also have DSD files converted by the ADI 1955 converter. The digital filters in the Bricasti M3 are double configured. You can choose between Linear filters for maximum dynamics, or the minimum phase filters for the most vibrant reproduction and the more precise 3D image.

Analog : The Analog output buffer is a class A output amplifier, separate for the balanced XLR outputs and the RCA outputs. Sonically an excellent solution and very reliable. The Bricasti M3 contains an analog controlled volume control circuit. If desired, you can connect the Bricasti M3 directly to power amplifiers. The analog output can deliver 8 Volts. The volume control is adjustable from -60 dB to +8dB. At 0dB setting, the Bricasti M3 switches the Analog volume control out of the signal path, and is thus a direct DA Converter output without the extra buffers.

Remote : The Bricasti M3 is equipped with the new aluminium remote control. Since the Bricasti M3 has a beautiful large and very clear Dot Matrix display, you can excellently control the M3 remotely. All functions can be operated. Volume, Balance control, Filters, the Converter, etc. This remote control is also made of billet aluminum and is a pleasure to use.

Network Player : The Bricasti M3 is equipped with a network player with a UTP input. In fact, the Bricasti M5 network player is built into the M3. You can then use the Bricasti M3 as a streaming endpoint in Roon, Audirvana or JRiver.

Listening : The Bricasti M3 has many characteristics of the acclaimed Bricasti M1 and M1SE Classic D/A Converters. The sound is largely similar. A very pure and differentiated sound character reveals itself, and the music reveals itself calmly and precisely. The Bricasti M3 has a totally analog sound image. All Bricasti audio devices possess the art of analog music reproduction. The sound image embraces you, and does not attack you. This Bricasti M3 is no exception to that.
