General : The B&W 804D3 is a technically highly advanced loudspeaker with outstanding sound.

Technical Details : The B&W 804D3 is the smallest floorstanding speaker in the Diamond 3 series from B&W. The tweeter is the latest version of the renowned B&W diamond dome tweeter. It sits in a very narrow custom enclosure on top of the speaker and is vented at the rear. The midrange driver is the new Continuum unit with neodymium drive, an improved and stiffer kevlar cone without roll surround, and it also sits in its own vibration-free aluminum enclosure. The woofers are Aerofoil cones in a magnesium enclosure with neodymium magnets. Everything is designed to operate resonance-free with minimum diffraction. The enclosure therefore plays a crucial role in the final sound quality. The crossovers feature high-quality components and are mounted on thick circuit boards. The B&W 804D3 has external bi-wire inputs of high quality. The cabinet is very robustly built with thick internal bracing to reduce resonance and weighs a net 33 kg.

Listening : The B&W 804D3 indeed sounds very good. Detailed, dynamic, and with beautiful deep and controlled bass reproduction.
