The Gigawatt PF-2 EVO is the successor to the Gigawatt PF-2 MK2, designed for optimal power distribution and protection of high-quality audio and video systems. A key improvement of the PF-2 EVO compared to the PF-2 MK2 is that the internal wiring has been replaced with Gigawatt Powerlink, the latest generation of internal wiring. The Gigawatt Powerlink consists of solid-core copper conductors with a cross-section of 4mm². Additionally, the filter techniques and components have been improved.

The PF-2 EVO is the best power strip in the Gigawatt range, as it impresses with its solid construction and quality of finish, and for such an affordable price, has an extremely positive effect on the sound quality of the connected system, and your TV screen or projector also benefits greatly from this power strip. The Gigawatt PF-2 Evo is made from high-quality components and features double the amount of filter technology on board. Distortion in the current is filtered through an RLC filter block. This is built with Miflex metallized polyester capacitors with low inductance and an IP core (iron powder). All filter components are soldered to a solid PCB with large trace cross-sections, and Gigawatt uses silver solder.

The Gigawatt PF-2 Evo has also abandoned the use of traditional protective elements, such as wire or thermal fuses, which restrict free current to the protected circuits and thereby negatively impact sound quality. Protection against overvoltage and current spikes is guaranteed by a multi-stage protection circuit consisting of a new generation of UltraMOV varistors. These elements, working together with a well-designed, modern power supply, guarantee comprehensive protection against overcurrent and overvoltage.

The PF-2 EVO uses an innovative distribution system, a proprietary development of the company. It is based on solid pure copper distribution bars of the 2nd generation, made from highly pure polished copper. This system distributes power directly to each pair of outlets, using a crimp connection fastened with the latest Gigawatt PowerLink internal wiring. The internal wiring is silver-plated OFHC copper with a cross-section of 4mm². The use of star wiring and the high conductivity and solid cross-section of approximately 30 mm2 of each distribution bar ensures equal and stable power distribution, regardless of the load on the strip's outlets.

The PF-2 EVO power strip is equipped with six high-quality Gigawatt G-040 Schuko outlets, designed and manufactured by Gigawatt themselves. The brass connectors of the G-040 outlets are silver-plated at the factory, without the use of intermediate metals such as copper or nickel, which could introduce unfavorable series resistance and voltage loss. The larger contact surface and thick layer of silver ensure excellent contact with the pins of the connected plug. The Gigawatt G-040 outlets are additionally subject to cryogenic modification and a demagnetization process. For safety, the G-040 outlet boxes are equipped with integrated anti-insertion protection (enhanced protection against contact, in accordance with VDE 0620).
