Technology : The first thing that stands out is the stylish design and the large touchscreen display on the front. The IPS technology of this screen ensures realistic color reproduction and a wide viewing angle, meaning the display is easy to read from many different angles. Right next to the screen is a slider button to adjust the volume. The display of the Hifi Rose RS201e gives a luxurious appearance, and the build quality and operation of the Hifi Rose RS201e feel the same way. Anyone can use the Hifi Rose on the go and yet the software has a luxurious appearance. The Hifi Rose RS201e is versatile, so it can be used as a Music Server, Music & Video (up to 4K) Streamer, DAC and integrated amplifier with a solid power output of 2 x 100 Watt, which can drive most speakers. The Hifi Rose RS201e can be equipped with an SSD drive to store music, up to 4Tb can be installed in a simple way. The Hifi Rose RS201e can also retrieve music from external network locations such as a NAS or NUC and it is also possible to play music from an external USB storage location such as a Hard Drive or a USB stick. The DAC used in the Hifi Rose RS201e is a high-quality DAC with ESS Sabre ES9018K2M chips that can play 384KHz/32bit PCM and DSD256 files. There is also a built-in MQA decoder so you can also play the High Res MQA files from Tidal. The PCBs are efficiently laid out and developed to prevent noise, which provides cleaner sound reproduction with less interference.
Functionality : The Hifi Rose RS201e comes with several commonly used applications pre-installed. The following applications are available: Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Rose Tube (Youtube with music only). The Hifi Rose RS201e is also RoonReady and can therefore be placed behind a Roon Server as a player. These apps can be controlled directly via the touchscreen on the front but of course also via the HiFi Rose app called 'Rose Connect' on your phone or tablet. You can also control the Hifi Rose RS201e with the supplied remote control. The display is fully customizable, so you can have it display multiple things. For example, you can fully dim the display, you can play Youtube videos from it, but you can also set the display to show VU-meters where you can choose the color yourself. This way you can adjust the look of the display to your personal preferences. Via the HDMI connection you can connect the Hifi Rose RS201e directly to a television, so concerts from Youtube really come to life, you can output videos up to 4k resolution to the television, at 60 FPS no less. Due to the many digital inputs and outputs, the RS201e can also be used as a standalone server/streamer or as a D/A Converter for example a CD player or Blu Ray player. Internet radio and podcasts can also be played by the Hifi Rose RS201e. Hifi Rose also makes a CD drive/ripper, the Hifi Rose RSA780, with which you can rip CDs to add them to the optional internal SSD, or you can play the CDs directly.
