Technology: The Kii Audio BXT system is essentially a Kii Three extended with BXT subfrequency extenders (the BXT are not subwoofers) and the Kii Control. The Kii Three itself has different software and different settings, and the Kii Three now performs differently than a full range Kii Three. The bass section is adapted to work with the BXT woofer tower. In the BXT System, each unit is driven separately with its own 250 watt NCore amplifier. The BXT itself has 8 woofers, the Kii Three has 4 woofers, and a midrange driver and tweeter, totaling 14 units, each with a 250 watt NCore amplifier. The Kii BXT System therefore has no less than 3,500 watts of continuous amplifier power. Per channel. The fact is that each unit is driven directly, without the intervention of a crossover filter. Control is therefore optimal and distortion minimal. Whether you play loud or soft makes almost no difference now. The most significant technological feature of this BXT system is that the Kii BXT radiates bass in a kidney-shaped pattern. Every other speaker on the market radiates below 250Hz in all directions. The result is that bass reproduction is very much dependent on the room and the position in the room. You know how it is. In one spot in the room there is plenty of bass, in another spot there is barely any. You keep moving your speakers until you find a spot where the bass sounds acceptable at your listening position, but often that is not the ideal spot for you. With virtually every speaker in every room it remains a very strong compromise. The Kii Audio Three and BXT radiate the bass forward up to about 40Hz. The Kii BXT system is even a line source in the bass. The result is that the BXT system brings the bass to your chair, into the room, and not in all directions around the room and thus much less involves the room in the bass reproduction. The bass energy is focused and does not radiate strongly upward or downward in the BXT System, and barely upward or downward. Your neighbors will be happy about it. The quality of the bass is very high, as are the other qualities of this exceptional system. A second technical feature is that the BXT system is phase-correct. Thanks to DSP, all units are controlled, and if necessary delayed, so that all frequencies reach your ears at the same time. This provides a very natural reproduction, and not just at your listening position, but everywhere in the room. In summary, the Kii Audio BXT System is a very complete and unique High End audio system. Add your streamer / CD player or even turntable (with separate phono preamp) and you have a complete and absolutely unique system at home, which looks great and sounds absolutely unique.

Listening: We already know the Kii Three very well. It is a small speaker that sounds much larger than it is, and for its size has an unimaginably deep bass response and also sounds very transparent and dynamic. The Kii Audio BXT system sounds different from the Kii Three. You would expect the sound to be roughly the same, but that bass reproduction would be deeper and perhaps that the BXT system could play louder. However, things are completely different. The reproduction of the BXT system is of a completely different order. The soundstage is larger, more refined and much more effortless. There is an enormous sense of calm. Everything flows naturally, and that is quite a significant difference from the Kii Three without BXT. It makes you feel calmer yourself. On a technical level everything is correct and in terms of listening there is really nothing left to wish for. Of course you should expect that from a system in this price range, but there are plenty of speakers on the market that cannot match the exactness and timing of the Kii BXT System, in addition to the fact that conventional systems are much more dependent on a room with good acoustics, and then a complete installation needs to be added as well.
