General : The Magico S1 MK1 is a high-end 2-way floor-standing loudspeaker with a closed enclosure.

Technical : The Magico S1 MK1 is a very thoughtfully designed loudspeaker. The enclosure is made of solid aluminum and is substantially reinforced on the inside with solid aluminum braces. Cabinet resonance is therefore extremely low. The enclosure is completely sealed, which provides tight and resonance-free bass reproduction. The tweeter is made of Beryllium, a very light and rigid material. The midwoofer is made from Magico's proprietary Nano-Tec material, a combination of carbon fiber and Rohacell foam. This combination of materials is super light, super stiff, and therefore features excellent acceleration and very low distortion. The voice coil behind the midwoofer is made of titanium. All in all, the Magico S1 MK1 is a technical masterpiece, and with its sleek and stylish appearance and closed enclosure, the Magico S1 MK1 feels at home in many rooms.

Listening : The Magico S1 MK1 features a very transparent and clear sound. The spatial imaging is enormous for such a compact loudspeaker. It is immediately apparent that the Magico S1 MK1 is a loudspeaker of extremely high quality. Due to the closed enclosure, the bass will sound somewhat less round and full than with a bass-reflex or transmission-line loudspeaker, but you get a lot of definition and rhythm in the bass in return. Especially with acoustic percussion instruments, you hear fantastic definition and realism. The bass response of the Magico S1 MK1 is certainly not thin, but also absolutely not too heavy, which makes the Magico S1 MK1 easy to place in many types of rooms and it will not quickly become overbearing.

This set of Magico S1 MK1 is finished in the sleek high gloss gray finish, which had a substantial premium at the time. The set still looks excellent and the metal grilles, which can be attached to the speakers via magnets, are included.
