General : The Magico S3 is a closed 3-way reference loudspeaker with a solid aluminum enclosure.

Technical : You can view the Magico S3 as the natural successor to the excellently reviewed Magico V3 loudspeaker, the loudspeaker where it all started at Magico, together with the Mini II. The Magico S3 MK1 was a very modern and forward-thinking loudspeaker for its time. Even today, the Magico S3 MK1 still holds its own among today's loudspeakers. The two bass woofers per loudspeaker are Magico's Hybrid Nanotec Aluminum woofers. The midrange driver is a Nanotec driver. Nanotec is a very light and rigid material that resists distortion and coloration. The tweeter is a very dynamic Beryllium tweeter. The sensitivity of this closed aluminum loudspeaker is a respectable 88dB, however they do require some power at higher volumes, so a stable amplifier is recommended. Think of a Pass Labs, Nagra, Aavik Acoustics, or Bricasti amplifier.

Sound : The first thing that stands out when listening to the Magico S3 MK1 is an enormous beauty down to the smallest details. Voices and instruments sound very transparent and clear. The bass reproduction is very tight and rhythmic. Especially with music where a lot happens, such as orchestral music, big band jazz, and certain electronic music, you can hear all the information from the recording very clearly. The loudspeakers disappear due to the spatial and deep soundstage, and you will rediscover your favorite recordings with the Magico S3 MK1.

This pair of Magico S3 MK1 loudspeakers is finished in the elegant M-Cast Black finish and is in absolutely like-new condition. The original wooden crate and corresponding accessories are also included. The serial numbers are 00645 & 00646.
