Technical Details : The Monitor Audio Gold Reference 60 is a 3.5-way floor-standing speaker. The bass is handled by two 6.5" RST bass drivers. The same 6.5" RST unit is also used for the midrange/lower midrange below the tweeter. RST stands for Rigid Surface Technology. This is a technique inspired by the Japanese paper-folding technique 'Origami'. What they do is create small and precise folds at measured points in the cone, which improves rigidity and stiffness. This results in more precise and faster reproduction, and also improves the durability of the units. The treble is reproduced by a 25mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, which is formed by a ceramic-coated aluminum/magnesium alloy with an anodized gold layer. An extremely rigid and lightweight tweeter with a very sparkling yet calm reproduction. The Monitor Audio Gold Reference 60 are also easy to drive due to their high impedance (6 Ohm) and favorable efficiency (90dB).
