Technical Details : Mytek originally comes from the studio world, but later made the step to produce equipment for the consumer market as well. The makers of Mytek know about efficiency, so you won't find too many bells and whistles on the Mytek Manhattan II. Yet the design is sleek and the chassis is solidly built. The Mytek Manhattan II is the successor to the already excellent Manhattan. With the upgrade, the motherboard has been renewed and better DAC chips and a better femto clock are used. The Mytek Manhattan II can convert all formats from MP3, FLAC, ALAC, High Res PCM, DXD and DSD signals, and also has a built-in MQA Decoder. Additionally, there are 7 PCM filters and 3 DSD filters which are easy to change, allowing you to tailor the sound to your personal preference. The streamer is compatible with Apple AirPlay, Spotify Connect and can also be used as a DLNA/UpnP or RoonReady player. In short, a world of possibilities in a sleek enclosure packed with high-quality components, and at a price that is very reasonable.

Listening Experience : The Mytek Manhattan II sounds very neutral and free from coloration, so everything sounds as it should. Yet it doesn't have the typical super-tight and bare studio sound; you can tell that Mytek comes from the studio world, but the sound is richly filled with details and pleasant to listen to. Voices sound beautifully full and clear, everything that happens in the recording is easy to understand, and the soundstage is nicely spacious. If you play around with the filters a bit, you can make the sound even quieter and more refined, or conversely tighter and more dynamic. This Mytek Manhattan II is in like-new condition and comes with the original packaging and accessories.
