The Pass X-260.8 monoblocks are the successor to the Pass X-260.5 series. However, the new X-260.8 is a clear step forward. The Pass X-260.8 is much more robustly built and operates at a higher Class A bias and features improved components in many respects. The Power Supply has been enlarged, the voltage regulators have become more precise, and the result is excellent. The Pass X-260.8 monoblocks are fully balanced from input to output and also feature new speaker terminals. Up to 34 watts, the X-260.8 monoblocks operate in pure Class A, and above that the Pass X-260.8 delivers an impressive 2 x 260 watts continuous power at 8 ohms, and 520 watts continuous power at 4 ohms. The Pass X-260.8 together weigh approximately 100 kg net, which means they must be placed on a very stable stand. Sonically, the new Pass X-260.8 is a clear step forward compared to the older series. Better articulation, more transparent, more analog sounding, with more glow, and better bass response. Ultimately, the Pass X-260.8 is one of the finest stereo power amplifiers on the market.
