Technical : The Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is a loudspeaker like no other. Crafted to have the form of an instrument and built with the greatest care and finest materials. Beautifully finished in the stunning, richly lacquered Red Violin finish with leather center section and black sides. The drivers consist of two 12" aluminum/magnesium bass woofers specially made for Sonus Faber by SEAS. For the midrange and lower midrange, a 6" Audio Technology pulp midrange driver is used. For the high frequencies, a custom-made Scan-Speak silk dome tweeter is employed. This tweeter was specially designed for the Stradivari, as the Stradivari has a very wide baffle and the radiation pattern of the Scan-Speak dome tweeter can handle this well. The Sonus Faber Stradivari is a ported loudspeaker with bass reflex system at the rear, with this port being tuned together with the entire cabinet volume. The tweeter and midrange driver sit in their own reinforced sub-enclosure within the cabinet and have their own ventilation port.

Listening : The Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is a highly musical loudspeaker. Due to the unique and heavily constructed cabinet, you hear virtually no resonances from the cabinet itself. However, the Sonus Faber Stradivari does need space, so it prefers to be positioned somewhat away from the rear wall. Once properly set up and connected to a high-quality amplifier, pure enjoyment ensues. The bass reproduction is very deep and tight, simply a pleasurable bass to listen to. The midrange and high frequencies are very pleasant and detailed. The tempo and rhythm of the Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is excellent, these are not slow and woolly loudspeakers. These are lively and organically sounding loudspeakers without listening fatigue. You immediately lose yourself in the recording, and the only thing on your mind when the album ends is which album to listen to next. In addition to their great musical qualities, the Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage are of course also true masterpieces to look at – you'll find them more beautiful every day.

This set of Sonus Faber Stradivari Homage is in a remarkably pristine condition, the lacquer and leather look absolutely flawless. No discoloration or dry spots. On one of the loudspeakers, however, there is one tiny mark on the leather at the back, but this is negligible when you see how excellent the rest of the loudspeakers look. The front elastics have been renewed and are very tight. The original fabric covers and foam pieces are included, however the boxes are unfortunately no longer available.
