Fully dual mono design, and equipped with the aging-free AVAA volume control. Enormous short signal paths, and fully modular construction. The Accuphase C-2420 has various balanced and unbalanced inputs. The outputs are dual configured. 2 x XLR Balanced and 2 x Cinch Unbalanced, fully switchable. A modest tone control is also available. You don't see that very often anymore, but it can do good things in case of too sharp a CD, or a record with too much bass. The Accuphase C-2420 can also be expanded with a very good Phono preamp MM/MC as an expansion module. In terms of sound, the Accuphase C-2420 is a true reference quality preamplifier.

Listening : The Accuphase C-2420 sounds absolutely excellent. The entire sound image is calm, velvety and very fine-dynamic. Here no thin sounding sound images but a real full body sound image which is moreover very compelling. The fine dynamics are in excellent order, the overall experience is very analog and 3D. The role of a good preamplifier should not be underestimated. When you connect the Accuphase C-2420 between, for example, your CD player with variable output (Wadia, DCS..) and the power amplifier, the difference is significant, in a positive way.
