General : The Acoustic Plan Sitar is a compact hybrid integrated amplifier of Reference Class quality.

Technology : The Acousticplan Sitar is a special amplifier. The construction is truly super-minimalist. 5 Line inputs, unbalanced, and 1 Line output, for use with for example a subwoofer. The complete linestage is equipped with Triode tubes. The output stage itself consists of only 2 high power mosfets per channel. No rows of transistors that could blur the image. 1 Mosfet for the positive half of the sine wave and the other for the negative half. Enormous purity and sonic authenticity is the result. The Acousticplan Sitar comes standard with Line inputs only, but this Sitar has the excellent and expensive tube Phono MM/MC preamplifier built in, and the optional remote control is also present. This tube preamp is also of a truly excellent quality, and truly built for reference class turntables. The Sitar's power supply is an external unit, with a thick and silent transformer, and the rectifiers. This keeps all possible interference signals at a distance.

Listening : The Acoustic Plan Sitar is one of the best integrated amplifiers in the world, if not the best. This little powerhouse may only deliver 2 x 40 watts, but it doesn't sound like it. We actually don't know of faster, more open-sounding and purer integrated amplifiers. Perhaps the Analog Domain M75D, but that's also 3 times as expensive. We've had the Acousticplan Sitar play with various speakers, including the challenging Magico V3 and A3 (Low efficiency, difficult impedance) and the result was "stunning". Dynamic, fast, open, pure and always very musical. This Acoustic Plan is in a particularly fine condition, and comes complete with the original packaging and also a full spare tube set.
