The Audio Research CD-7 is simply one of the most musical CD players available. This CD-7 features the CD-8 Power upgrade, so with the newer type tubes. In the market we refer to this as the CD-7.5
Technical : The CD-7 is the first Reference CD Player from Audio Research. Built around the elastically suspended Philips CD-Pro 2 transport, a 24bit Crystal DA converter and thanks to the upgrade a total of seven 6550 tubes in the power supply and line stage. The Audio Research CD-7.5 is a top loader, so a spot on top of the rack is preferred.
Sound : The Audio Research CD-7 already sounds wonderful, but with the CD-8 upgrade it has become even better. A very smooth soundstage, with plenty of air and depth representation. This CD-7.5 sounds very analog, and always very exciting, and calm at the same time. The Audio Research is a fantastic CD player, and still one of the best sounding on the market.
