The Avalon Acoustics Eclipse is a true High End speaker with a very musical and distinctive character. It is a sealed 2-way system in a very heavy and solidly constructed cabinet, beautifully finished with genuine Curly Maple. Despite its age, the Avalon Acoustics Eclipse can effortlessly keep up with current high-end speakers and still does some things better than most of them. Thanks to the sealed system, the bass reproduction is unparalleled in precision. Tight, deep, and very well-defined. The midrange is also of great quality. Pure, clean, and very transparent. The tweeter is crossed over very low, from 1.2KHz onwards. The upper midrange and ultra-high reproduction is therefore exceptionally transparent and dynamic. The crossover is built into a separate compartment at the bottom of the cabinet and therefore does not suffer from resonances. Once properly positioned, the Avalon Acoustics Eclipse does things that make other speakers pale in comparison. A complete image, from deep bass to the highest treble, ultra-transparent and very authentic. Quite extraordinary and you can listen to it for hours without listener fatigue. One requirement is that the Avalon Acoustics Eclipse is paired with a very good amplifier, as all weaknesses in the chain become audible. The Avalon Acoustics Eclipse is one of our personal favorites and highly suitable for music lovers in compact spaces, but they can also handle very large rooms. These Avalon Acoustics Eclipse speakers are finished in Curly Maple and are in excellent condition, and are delivered complete with Apex Couplers and the manual.
