Technology : The Avalon Eidolon was the first new Avalon loudspeaker to use the latest drivers on the market. For the midrange and high frequencies, the highly exclusive ceramic units from Accuton, Germany, were used. These units were used by other brands as well, but thanks to Avalon's sophisticated filter technology, the Avalon Eidolon had no harsh aftertaste. The woofer is the large kevlar/nomex woofer, super fast, light and extremely rigid. All units operated in their optimal frequency band. The Avalon Eidolon was a great success and became one of the best-selling Avalons ever. The cabinet is also exceptional. The front panel is more than 10cm thick, and the side walls were assembled from 9 layers of bonded MDF. The story goes that an Eidolon owner's house burned down to the ground, and the only thing still standing was the pair of Eidolons. Of course, that says nothing about sound quality, but the Avalon Eidolon certainly sounds very good.

Listening : The Avalon Eidolon falls into the category of "naturally sounding" loudspeakers. Not the technical aspect dominates, but the musical. Martin Collins wrote about the Eidolon that he had never heard a loudspeaker where so little sound came from the loudspeaker itself. The noise floor is therefore extremely low, which benefits fine detail. Soundstaging has always been a strong point of Avalon, and the Eidolon does not disappoint in this regard either. This set of Avalon Eidolons is in technically perfect condition, and visually they look good overall, but there are a few minor details visible up close. This set of loudspeakers comes with the original Apex cones and is ready for many years of musical enjoyment in your home.
