The Avantgarde Model 3 is a balanced integrated amplifier / preamplifier. The Model 3 features a number of very special and unconventional techniques. The Model 3 is equipped with a cascode-configured transistor circuit. This circuit was commonly used in the 1930s with tube technology. The advantages are greater bandwidth, less phase shift, and the absence of transistor harshness. The speaker's back EMF is also handled much better. The components used in the Model 3 are of very high quality. A special toroidal transformer and Black Gate capacitors, and the entire unit is magnetically shielded. The Avantgarde Model 3 stands for quality, and especially in combination with Avantgarde's high-efficiency speakers, the Model 3 performs extremely well, but it also sounds fantastic with other speakers. We've also connected it to modern Magico speakers, and that sounded excellent. The output power is relatively low thanks to the special technique, but don't be misled by that. The Model 3 delivers up to 0.4 watts in pure Class A and 38 watts in Class AB. 0.4 watts into the Avantgarde Duo Omega, which we also offer, delivers 104dB of undistorted output, all in pure Class A. The Model 3 is also a fantastic balanced preamplifier. You can easily drive other power amplifiers with it, as well as the active bass modules of, for example, the Avantgarde Duo Omega. The Avantgarde Model 3 is very well built and comes with a beautiful aluminum remote control. This Avantgarde Model 3 is in excellent condition and is now available to listen to at Ohm-Audio bv.
