Technical: The DCS Puccini is truly packed with technical highlights. First and foremost, it is an excellent CD/SACD player. A solid transport mechanism with a metal tray. Second, the DCS Puccini has external digital inputs, allowing it to function as a D/A Converter for external sources. Third, the Puccini has a built-in DSD Upsampler, which upsamples all signals to DSD. Finally, the Puccini has a built-in preamplifier to connect power amplifiers directly. The D/A converter is a proprietary DCS design, the 5-bit Ringdac. The built-in clock is of a very high standard, but the DCS Puccini is elevated to an entirely different level by the optional DCS Paganini Clock. This takes over the clock function from the Puccini, and the Paganini Clock can also externally clock additional digital devices. The Paganini clock is clearly superior to the most commonly used U-Clock and rarely appears on the market. The DCS Puccini with Paganini is a very special and exceptionally sounding audio source.

Listening: The Puccini sounds excellent on its own. A truly High End reproduction level. Very analog-sounding, with superb spatial presentation, and all details are very easy to follow. The character of the reproduction is very analog. You might think it cannot get any better, until you engage the external Paganini Clock which takes over the clock function. Suddenly, the presentation grows in all dimensions, and not in a minor way. This is now truly reproduction at a very high level. This DCS Puccini + Paganini Clock are in excellent condition, serviced by Audioservice, official NL import via More Music, and the optional heavy remote control is included.
