General: Stylish Polish tube amplifier with a unique appearance and a very musical sound.

Technical: The Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH is the predecessor of the Eggshell Prestige 10.2. Eggshell makes amplifiers like no one else really does. In terms of appearance, everything is finished very uniquely with a stylish white metal enclosure and a turquoise glass panel on the front so you can see into the amplifier. On the front you also see a large, horizontally rotating volume knob and even more unique is the optional luxury remote. The remote is a spherical device which you have to rotate yourself around its axis to control the volume, this works much better than you would expect and it is a method of volume control that we have not seen before. The remote is rechargeable via a Micro USB cable. Eggshell does it their own way, and we like that.

Tube Complement: This Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH has 1 Tesla EL34 tube per channel, completely single ended. For the preamplification, 1 Electro Harmonix EF86EH Triode tube and 1 Electro Harmonix 6SN7EH Balanced tube is used per channel. The Electro Harmonix 6SN7EH Balanced tubes are a brand new matched pair which we purchased and installed in the amplifier. The entire internal wiring uses point to point wiring which makes the amplifier very durable.

Sound: The Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH is a special amplifier, and it sounds like it. It becomes clear quite quickly that it is intended to use speakers with high efficiency. At lower volumes, the Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH can work well with speakers with average efficiency, but as soon as you turn up the volume knob a bit, the Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH struggles. But with a high efficiency horn speaker, the match is magical. The high tones are dynamic and very refined, the midrange is rich and open, and the bass is full and rhythmic. The spatial imaging is large and extremely musical. Once connected to the right speakers, the Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH delivers pure music and listening pleasure, and with its stunning looks, it is a real eye catcher.

This Eggshell Prestige 10 WSTH is in pristine condition and comes with the unique optional luxury spherical remote control. The 6SN7EH tubes were newly installed by us, and you can now schedule an appointment to audition this unique amplifier at Ohm-Audio B.V.
