All of ELAC's expertise, from the renowned JET ribbon tweeter to the multiply reinforced cabinet, makes it possible to produce with the FS 209.2 a true-to-nature sound reproduction that turns music enjoyment into an erotic experience. Technical features and details: The newly developed JET III ribbon tweeter has a neodymium magnet system that provides very strong drive. Thanks to the new geometric structure of the ribbon, the reproduced cutoff frequency now lies above 50 kHz. The new damping in this high-frequency speaker ensures very linear frequency response. The reproduction of the midrange is handled by a newly developed ELAC chassis. This unit features a hand-covered, woven plastic dome. A specially shaped sound guide ensures optimal radiation toward the listening position. The two highly load-bearing 180mm woofers, in addition to aluminum-sandwich membranes and a new kapton voice coil, feature dual magnets for strong drive, a wide double asymmetric suspension (DAS), all of which ensures high efficiency, great stability of the membrane, excellent behavior at high sound levels, and deep, tight bass response. Multiple reinforcements and damping within the cabinet prevent cabinet resonance. A computer-calculated crossover ensures very even distribution of sound pressure across the entire frequency response range and optimal radiation of the midrange. Bass reflex ports with rounded edges on both sides to avoid annoying noise from incoming or outgoing air are suitable for use with Bass-Control end caps, with which the bass can be adjusted as needed in the living room. The high-quality ELAC Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping loudspeaker terminal has separate connections for bass and midrange/treble. The angled connection terminals are easy to access and suitable for cable diameters up to 16 mm² or so-called cable forks (e.g. AudioSelection, Groneberg or WBT). The FS 209.2 comes standard with a loudspeaker foot into which spikes can be screwed.
