The new Gigawatt LS series cables are Gigawatt's hand-built Reference Powercords. Hand-built means they do not come off a roll. Conductor for conductor, this cable is assembled. The carefully manufactured wires (Silver-plated OFHC) are inserted one by one into Teflon sleeves. The LS-1 MK3 powercord is fully shielded and equipped with the finest High End Rhodium connectors. This ultra high quality powercord is perfectly suited for the top of High End Audio and the Gigawatt Powersquips and Powerconditioners also perform excellently with this cable.

Gigawatt uses only pure quality in their products. The difference between all Gigawatt cables lies in the choice of materials, the amount of conductive material, the damping properties and the shielding and possible application of Nano filters.

The Gigawatt LS-1 MK3 consists of 8 solid core pure OFHC copper cables which are precisely silver-plated. OFHC stands for Oxygen Free High Conductivity 99.997% copper. The Gigawatt LS-1 MK3 powercord contains 3 x Phase, 3 x Neutral, 1 x Ground and 1 uninsulated tinned copper wire. The latter is for contact with the shielding foil along the entire length of the cable. The shielding foil on the LS-1 MK3 is a tinned copper foil. This ground wire is connected to the Schuko connector, but not to the IEC connector. This is to prevent a ground loop. Each conductor is 1.5mm2 in cross-section. The insulation of the LS-1 MK3 is made of Teflon and the vibration damping layer is made of PVC. An anti-static layer has also been applied. The LS-1 MK3 powercord is fully shielded with tinned copper foil. The 3 + 3 + 2 bundles in Teflon are again wrapped in a PVC insulation jacket for stability and vibration damping. The ultra low impedance of the cable makes the LS-1 MK3 suitable for the best High End audio installations. The connecting plugs are the Gigawatt G-010R and G-030R connectors, made of pure OFC copper and protected with a Rhodium coating layer. These connectors have a different connection method that grips even better. Furthermore, the Gigawatt LS-1 MK3 cable has a Nano Crystal Alloy filter, which prevents the transmission of EMI and RFI contamination.

Listening :
The Gigawatt LS-1 MK3 is a true reference powercord. The LS-1 MK3 cable sounds very powerful and open. As if you have received 20 volts more power. The level of refinement is very high. You hear details you have never heard before, and the ease with which that happens is truly remarkable. The 3D image is larger than ever, and the music simply flows from your system. The LS-1 MK3 cable is suitable for all equipment, both digital and analogue. Even heavy power amplifiers benefit optimally from this cable. The Rhodium connectors also make the cable sound even faster than the versions with gold-plated and nickel-plated connectors. We use this cable in our Studio 1 as the main powercord for all our demos. A top cable!
