The Lector Digicode 704 is the balanced version of the acclaimed Digitube S192 DA Converter. The DA conversion is performed with 4 multibit R2R Burr Brown DAC Chips. The digital signal and the analog output signal are fully balanced. The output stage is handled by 4 long life tubes, 2 for left and 2 for right. The dual tube sets are necessary for the fully balanced outputs. The Lector Digicode 704 is therefore a true balanced DA Converter. Unbalanced outputs are also available. Another difference with the Digitube S192 is that the Digicode is equipped with an external power supply. The Digicode 704 is supplied with the PSU218. The Lector PSU218 is an external power supply with 3 completely separate power circuits for Analog and Digital, including 3 separate transformers. One for the Analog section, one for the digital section, and one for the tubes. These circuits can also be switched on and off separately. You can thus keep the digital part of the Lector Digicode 704 under power for maximum sound quality, and switch off the power for the analog output stage, including the tubes. The long life ECC-81 tubes reach operating temperature within a quarter hour and then sound as intended. The Lector Digicode 704 is standard equipped with 3 digital inputs. 1 x AES/EBU, 1 x Spdif via Cinch and 1 x Spdif via BNC. The Lector Digicode 704 has a resolution of 24Bit 192 KHz on each input. The Lector Digicode is therefore a DA converter that you can use in all situations, and that offers you optimal sound quality in all situations.
