Technique : The Magico S1 MK2 appears to be a simple fairly compact, not too heavy floorstanding loudspeaker, but appearances can be deceiving. The Magico S1 MK2 is packed with innovative solutions and is equipped with the best loudspeaker technology in the world. First of all, the Magico S1 MK2 weighs 55 Kg net, and this is due to the very stable and resonance-free enclosure. The entire body is made of cast aluminium. Where the Magico S1 MK1 still had reinforcement ribs that were clamped against the body, the Magico S1 MK2 now has reinforcement ribs that are clamped through the body, instead of the other way around, so the aluminium enclosure is stress-free. The top is a thick aluminium plate that comes from the CNC milling machine and is hollow on the inside and domed on the top. The internal resonance is thus better distributed and the diffraction on the outside is also improved. The bottom also comes from the CNC milling machine. It is a heavy solid aluminium plate, now with connections for the enormous large spikes, directly in the bottom. The filter technology is very advanced and the filter is equipped with top-class components. The crossover frequency is fairly low, approximately 1800Hz, and the magnificent tweeter can reveal more of its qualities than with the 3-way systems. This is possible because the maximum sound pressure is lower than with the 3-way systems. The Magico S1 MK2 comes standard with a metal grill which is magnetically attached to the front.

The Magico S1 MK2 consists of many innovative solutions and is equipped with the best loudspeaker techniques in the world. First of all, the Magico S1 MK2 weighs 55Kg each because of the very stable and resonance free enclosure. The whole enclosure is made from cast aluminium. The Magico S1 MK1 had reinforcement ribs, which were clamped against the enclosure. The Magico S1 MK2 however, has it's enclosure clamped against the reinforcement ribs, so the other way around, this makes the aluminium enclosure stress free. The top side on the Magico S1 MK2 is a thick machined aluminium plate which is hollow on the inside and spherical on the outside, this way the resonance on te inside of the enclosure is spread out more evenly and it also improves the diffraction on the outside. The bottom plate is also made of machined massive aluminium and they got rid of the loose feet which you needed to screw under the speaker before you could screw in the spikes, you can now screw the spikes directly into the bottom of the speaker. The Magico S1 MK2 also comes with a metal grill which you can place on the speaker with the help of magnets.
