General : The Magnepan MG 3.7i is the second largest (not counting the 30.7 Dual Panel) speaker from Magnepan and a true highlight.

Technology : The Magnepan 3.7i is a large 3-way dipole speaker with a number of special features. With the 3.7i, the crossover has been renewed and is now built-in to the speaker. Also, the Magnepan 3.7i is no longer biwire, but now designed for simple single wire. This globally well-tested speaker is suitable for reasonably compact to large listening rooms. Compared to the old 3.7, the 3.7i features a larger mid-membrane and has an adjusted filter. The pure ribbon, the same as in the 20.7, has been retained. This ribbon tweeter remains one of the very best tweeters in the world, so refined and dynamic and without any harshness.

Sound : The sound of the Magnepan 3.7i is very large and completely free of virtually any type of distortion. So free and airy can really only a magnetostatic or electrostatic sound. Tonally, the 3.7i sounds even more homogeneous than the already excellent 3.7, but also with less emphasis on the treble. The Magnepan 3.7i has become much more homogeneous and that is a great plus. A magnetostatic has the advantage over electrostatics that a magnetostatic can also reproduce deep bass and play particularly loud. Also, a magnetostatic does not attract dust like an electrostatic does. Combine the Magnepan MG 3.7i with a very good tube or transistor amplifier, and you achieve a quality in your home that is difficult to achieve with dynamic speakers costing €30,000.
