The Magnepan LRS performs excellently with many amplifiers, but is actually designed to work with high-quality equipment. Only on a truly high-quality setup will you hear what the Magnepan LRS is really capable of. That doesn't diminish the fact that you can still enjoy plenty of musical pleasure listening to the Magnepan LRS on, for example, a receiver. The cabinet of the Magnepan LRS is sturdy and stable, and is finished with beautiful wooden strips on the side of the speaker. On the feet you may find brackets to tilt the Magnepan LRS a bit more upright if you sit closer to it. By itself, the Magnepan LRS, like the MG.7, leans back slightly.

Listening : The Magnepan LRS sounds surprisingly good for its price and size. Of course, you cannot expect the bass of a traditional cone speaker here. Yet the bass is not missing, and it is beautifully tight and pure. But where the Magnepan LRS really excels is the naturalness of vocals and instruments. So pure and real.
