General : 3-Way floor-standing reference loudspeaker from Sweden.

Technical : The Marten Bird 2 is the successor to the already excellent Bird 1. The Bird 2 has received new speaker units, with the biggest difference being a completely new and expensive pure diamond tweeter. The bass units are also new, they are the last ceramic sandwich bass drivers from the German brand Accuton. The crossover has also been completely redesigned, and the bass level is now adjustable to the room. The filter now contains expensive Mundorf components. The bass port is located at the bottom and radiates calmly and very evenly. The port is very deeply tuned at 26Hz, which eliminates annoying bass reflex sounds. The speaker's feet are now stainless steel, and the cones and pucks are manufactured by Marten themselves. The Bird 2 is better damped than the Bird 1 and is sonically at a much higher level.

Listening : The Marten Bird 2 sounds fantastic. Incomparably much better than the already very good Bird 1. You hear a more mature sound, more fine dynamics, more body and more glow. The bass reproduction is also completely different. Deeper, tighter and yet also smooth. The spatial presentation is grand and most reminiscent of the Avalon Time. The Marten Bird 2 is truly a very mature sounding and highly musical loudspeaker. Combine the Marten Bird 2 with a good transistor or tube amplifier and there is little more to wish for.
