EN.
General: The ElectroMotion ESL X is the larger sibling of the ESL. It features a larger panel with a lower crossover frequency than the standard ESL, resulting in even greater purity and a wider stereo image.

Technology: The Martin Logan ElectroMotion ESL X is a hybrid electrostatic loudspeaker with a passive dual dynamic woofer in its own enclosure. This means that the midrange and treble are reproduced by a very thin and light membrane stretched between two grilles that generate an electrical field. The membrane is coated with a conductive material, allowing it to respond to changes in the electrical field when a music signal passes through the grilles. The crossover point is at 400Hz, with the electrostatic element handling the entire range between 400-22,000Hz. Everything below that is handled by the 2 x 8" bass units at the bottom.

Listening: The Martin ElectroMotion ESL X sounds extremely open, is ultra transparent, and very refined. The stereo image is grand and tall, partly because the membrane acts as a line source. Bass is also abundant, with deep extension and a seamless transition between woofer and membrane. Martin Logan has mastered this exceptionally well. The overall presentation of this Martin Logan immediately convinces, everything sounds highly musical, with a refinement you rarely encounter, and not only for classical music, but also jazz and quality pop music sound outstanding on this ESL X. This ESL X is relatively young, around 5 to 6 years old, but one of the panels had lower output. For this reason, we equipped the ESL X on 1-11-2025 with a brand new set of original ESL X panels, purchased from Penhold, the official Dutch importer for Martin Logan. Therefore, there is also one spare panel included, and the new panels come with official warranty! This Martin Logan ElectroMotion ESL X set is in excellent condition and comes complete with original packaging. The Martin Logan ESL X is now available for listening at Ohm-Audio BV.
