Technical : The McIntosh C53 is a large, fully balanced preamplifier with many connection options. McIntosh's newest and best DAC module, the DA2 module, comes standard installed in the C53. This gives you an excellent DAC for your streamer, CD player or television. On the DA2 module you will find a USB-B, HDMI (ARC), 2 Optical Toslink and 2 SPDIF Coax over RCA inputs. You can connect virtually all types of digital equipment. There are also 2 phono inputs, 1 for MM cartridges and 1 for MC cartridges. Furthermore you have the choice between 3 balanced XLR analog inputs and 4 unbalanced RCA analog inputs. You won't easily run out of inputs. For the variable outputs there are 3 balanced XLR outputs and 3 unbalanced RCA outputs, and there is also a single fixed RCA output. On the front there is a headphone output to take advantage of the excellent built-in headphone amplifier. To fine-tune the sound to your personal taste there is an analog equalizer for 8 different frequency points, this equalizer can of course simply be switched off. So with the McIntosh C53 you get a very complete preamplifier with built-in DAC that leaves nothing to be desired. The construction is very solid and the finish is sublime.
