General : The Melody Pro88 MK2 is a very solidly built integrated tube amplifier from the Australian brand Melody. The Melody Pro88 MK2 is larger, more beautiful, more powerful and more musical than Melody's entry-level Action series.

Technical : The Melody Pro88 MK2 features a robust 2 x 50 Watt output. This wattage is achieved with 2 pieces of Melody KT88 tubes per channel (4 total). If desired, KT120 or KT150 tubes can also be installed in the Melody Pro88 MK2 for more power and a different tone. KT120 or KT150 tubes require a different bias adjustment, which is simple to do yourself on top of the amplifier in conjunction with the ammeters on the front panel. The preamp stage uses 4 x British XF184 tubes and there is also a single Western Electric WE407A dual triode tube present. Inside you'll find high-quality components such as Mundorf capacitors, and the amplifier uses point to point wiring. Melody amplifiers are therefore extremely durable. The Melody Pro88 MK2 is very solidly built and features a sleek, minimalist design. The chassis is made of solid aluminum with beautiful wooden side panels, and weighs no less than 40 kg. On the front there are 2 illuminated small ammeters for bias adjustment and 2 large knobs for volume control and input selection. The Melody Pro88 MK2 matches excellently with speakers with average to high efficiency. You are therefore not dependent on very high efficiency speakers to enjoy this beautiful tube sound.
