General : Analog preamplifier with optical inputs and built-in, fully adjustable Crossover module for subwoofers and main speakers

Technology : The Aavik Acoustics C-580 preamplifier is a fully analog designed preamplifier, Single Ended preamplifier. This means no balanced configuration. At Aavik Acoustics they believe that the unbalanced design sounds better. The Aavik Acoustics C-580 is full of noise reduction passive and active technologies such as Tesla Coils, and dither circuits. Everything has been done to keep the signal as pure as possible from input to output. The Aavik C-580 has, unlike the C-280, a Switchless Optical input board. The inputs are completely separated from each other, including the ground, and that has great sonic advantages. Less noise, more 3D. The power supply of the new C-580 is also special. It is a digital Resonant Mode Power supply, driven by sine waves instead of the usual square wave waves in switched mode power supplies. The power supply is at least 10 times stronger than what the C-580 will ever draw. The Aavik Acoustics C-580 contains 108 Active Tesla Coils (Ansuz trademark) and 228 Active Square Tesla Coils. In addition, Ansuz Dither Circuits have been built in at 10 locations. The housing is made of Ansuz/Aavik NBCM (Natural Based Cabinet Material), which have a very low resonance frequency. The Aavik C-580 also has a fully copper inner chassis, which the Aavik C-280 does not have.

Optional Crossover : The Aavik Acoustics C-280 and C-580 can be equipped with an optional analog High End crossover. This crossover has 2 separate outputs, in addition to the standard outputs. With this you can make the ideal separation between the main speakers and a subwoofer. The crossover frequency is adjustable. This way you can set the subwoofer output (Low Pass) to 30Hz, 35Hz, 40Hz, 45Hz, 50Hz, 55Hz, 60Hz, 65Hz, 70Hz, 75Hz and 80Hz. The same applies to the Main output for the power amplifier, then of course as a High Pass. This quality crossover in the Aavik controls the analog signal from the main speaker and the subwoofer. The main speaker is then relieved of the very lowest frequencies and certainly smaller speakers benefit enormously from this. The woofer no longer has to work as hard and as a result the speakers sound better, airier and have higher power handling. Also, IM distortion is greatly reduced. Due to the excellent technology, there is no latency (time delay) between the main speakers and the subwoofer.

Listening :

The Aavik C-580 analog front end is a sonic top preamplifier. Everything is right. With great ease (and much pleasure) the Aavik C-580 plays all sources, with excellent control and a very musical flow. The 3D bubble is enormous, and the playback is very detailed. You will hear details you have never heard before. Everything goes with tremendous ease, and that gives peace and space for music. We dare to call the Aavik C-580 a musical dream. Combine the Aavik C-580 with an Aavik or other unbalanced power amplifier, tube, transistor or digital, it doesn't matter, the musical performance will always be optimal.
