General : The Lector Audio ZOR is handcrafted entirely in Italy. It is a tube preamplifier with ZERO Feedback. The Lector Audio ZOR is the entry-level preamplifier from Lector Audio, very affordable yet highly musical. There are no solid state components in the signal path and the Lector ZOR features a very high-quality linear power supply. The Lector Audio ZOR's gain stage is an all-tube, Class A design equipped with a pair of renowned 6922/ECC88 tubes. The Lector ZOR is simply designed, with no technical frills, tone control, or balance control—only optimal treatment of the musical signal, and that is precisely the strength of this preamplifier and why it is so musical.

Functionality : The Lector Audio ZOR has five line inputs, a power switch, and a volume knob with a high-quality potentiometer that can be controlled remotely via remote control. There is also a single set of passive volume outputs for a subwoofer. Optionally, there is a home theater direct output (HTD) which switches the input directly through when the Lector Audio ZOR is switched off, bypassing the entire preamplifier circuit. This feature is particularly useful in complex home theater installations, allowing you to route selected source signals to an external multi-channel processor.

Sound : The sound quality of the Lector Audio ZOR is fantastic. The tone is very lively and has great body—you are immediately drawn into the music and the recording, the speakers disappear instantly, and the entire listening room is filled with music. The Class A tube output stage provides plenty of warmth and emotion, but without the typical false tube warmth caused by poorly designed (sluggish) circuits. The sound is therefore transparent, yet with warm undertones. It is particularly the resolution and the playful, exuberant character that creates a sound that keeps you enthusiastic—you stop focusing on the equipment and what you're hearing technically, you're simply enjoying the music with great pleasure, and that is ultimately what it's all about.
