Active Square Tesla Coil:
The Active Square Tesla Coil is a square coil that is applied to circuit boards of Audio Group Denmark equipment.
Before we discuss this specific type of Coil, let's first talk about the basic principle of every Tesla Coil technology from Audio Group Denmark. The Tesla Coil is a component that consists of 2 coils, a coil and a counter coil. The counter coil is wound in the opposite direction compared to the coil. Ansuz also calls this principle the 'Double Inverted Coil'. The principle of Tesla Coils can be seen as the principle behind a noise cancelling headphone; a noise cancelling headphone picks up outside noise at certain frequencies and then adds it out of phase to the signal, thereby cancelling these frequencies.
Tesla Coils do the same thing, except now it's about electronic noise rather than literally "audible" noise like wind or airplane engines. The special thing about electronic noise is that you don't actually hear it until you remove it, after which you notice that you hear more layers in the recording and that there is space and air between everything that happens in the recording. The more noise you remove, the stronger this effect becomes and the more you get out of the recording and truly extract what's in your music. Returning to the noise cancelling effect, a Tesla Coil ensures that the noise passes through the coil and thereby activates the counter coil; because the counter coil is wound in the opposite direction, it imitates the noise but out of phase, thereby cancelling the initial noise peak. One or more Tesla Coil(s) are placed in parallel with the signal path, so the signal doesn't go through all the coils, but the coils 'pick' the noise out of your conductors from the side, so to speak. All types of Tesla Coils are supporting and work together; the more Tesla Coils in your set, the more noise cancelling and the more musical the sound.
Active Square Tesla Coils are, as the name suggests, square. This is because this is the only type of Tesla Coil that is not applied on top of circuit boards or around cables, but instead the Active Square Tesla Coils are integrated into the circuit boards. The principle is the same: you have a coil and a counter coil, but now the coil is on the top of the circuit board and the counter coil is opposite to it on the bottom of the circuit board in the opposite direction. The advantage of the Square Tesla Coils is that a huge number of them can be applied, they are not expensive to make and don't take up much space. You will find the Active Square Tesla Coils on all types of circuit boards, such as the PCBs in various models of the Ansuz Mainz8 power distributor or the PowerSwitches and PowerBoxes, but also on circuit boards of Aavik or Axxess equipment. You will even find the Active Square Tesla Coils on the crossover circuit boards of various Borresen Acoustics speakers, and in the top models of Ansuz speaker cables and power cords (D-TC3 models and higher) there are also circuit boards full of Active Square Tesla Coils integrated into the blocks attached to the cable. In some cases you can see the Active Square Tesla Coils separately, but in amplifiers and other electronics they are often also integrated under the Active Tesla Coils on the circuit board since the Active Tesla Coils are already soldered onto a small circuit board.
