The Active Zirkonium Tesla Coil is an active variant of the Tesla Coils with a massive Zirkonium rod in the middle around which the coils are wound. This is a type of Tesla Coil from the latest generation and was introduced when the 3rd Gen. Ansuz Mainz8 power distributors and PowerSwitch ethernet switches came to market.
Before we discuss this specific type of coil, let's first talk about the basic principle of every Tesla Coil technology from Audio Group Denmark. The Tesla Coil is a component that consists of 2 coils, a coil and a counter-coil. The counter-coil is wound in the opposite direction compared to the coil. Ansuz also calls this principle the 'Double Inverted Coil'. The principle of the Tesla Coils can be seen as the principle behind noise-cancelling headphones. A noise-cancelling headphone picks up external noise at certain frequencies and then adds it out of phase to the signal, thereby cancelling out these frequencies.
The Tesla Coils do the same, except that it's now about electronic noise rather than literally "audible" noise like wind or airplane engines, etc. The special thing about electronic noise is that you don't really hear it until you remove it. After that, you notice that you hear more layers in the recording and that there is space and air between everything happening in the recording. The more noise you remove, the stronger this effect becomes and the more you get from the recording and truly extract what's in your music. Going back to the noise-cancelling effect, a Tesla Coil allows the noise to pass through the coil, which activates the counter-coil. Because the counter-coil is wound in an opposite direction, it imitates the noise but out of phase, thereby cancelling out the initial noise peak. One or more Tesla Coil(s) sit parallel to the signal path. The signal doesn't go through all the little coils, but the coils 'pluck' the noise from your conductors from the side, as it were. All types of Tesla Coils are supportive and work together. The more Tesla Coils in your setup, the more noise cancelling and the more musical the sound.
The Active Zirkonium Tesla Coils are very similar to the standard Active Tesla Coils, but with the Active Zirkonium Tesla Coils, the noise-eliminating effect of the coil is enhanced by a massive zirkonium rod in the middle around which the coils are wound. The technique of placing a solid metal rod inside a coil to enhance its effect has been known for some time, but designer Michael Børresen of Audio Group Denmark looks further than that and has discovered that Zirkonium provides much better sound compared to other metals for this application. The Active Zirkonium Tesla Coils are, as the name suggests, active. This means that the coils are energized with a DC signal, making them have a more powerful effect. With the individual Ansuz cables and Børresen speakers where this technology is integrated, you feed these Active Cable Tesla Coils from an Ansuz PowerBox or PowerSwitch. With Aavik amplifiers and Ansuz PowerSwitches and PowerBoxes, the active Tesla Coils are powered by the built-in power supply of the equipment, and with the Ansuz Mainz8 power distributors, the active Tesla Coils are powered by the AC current signal coming in from the power cord. This signal is converted to DC to properly power the Tesla Coils.
All active versions of the Tesla Coils are 3-4 times more effective at eliminating noise compared to the passive variants. The passive Tesla Coils are simpler to apply, and both versions can be combined, but the active Tesla Coils are really only found in all electronics from Aavik Acoustics, the Forté amplifiers from Axxess, and in the Ansuz power distributors (from the Mainz8 A3 and higher), network switches (from the PowerSwitch D-TC3 Supreme and higher), and PowerBoxes (only the PowerBox D-TC3 Supreme and D-TC3 Gold Signature).
