Anti Aerial Resonance Coil

(Gold) Anti Aerial Resonance Coil (AARC) :

The Anti Aerial Resonance Coil comes in 2 types: the Anti Aerial Resonance Coil that wraps around the conductors, and the Gold Anti Aerial Zirconium Resonance Coil that you find in electronic equipment such as power distributors and network switches from Ansuz, amplifiers and other equipment from Aavik, and amplifier and SE versions of power distributors and network switches from Axxess.

The Gold AARC is the best, most effective but also most expensive type of noise cancelling based on Tesla Coil technology that Audio Group Denmark uses.

Before we discuss this specific type of coil, let's first talk about the basic principle of every Tesla Coil technology from Audio Group Denmark. The Tesla Coil is a component consisting of 2 coils: a coil and a counter-coil. The counter-coil is wound in the opposite direction compared to the coil. Ansuz also calls this principle the 'Double Inverted Coil'. The principle of Tesla Coils can be understood as the principle behind noise-cancelling headphones. Noise-cancelling headphones pick up external noise at certain frequencies and then add it out of phase to the signal, thereby cancelling out these frequencies.

Tesla Coils do the same thing, except now it's about electronic noise rather than literally "audible" noise like wind or airplane engines. The special thing about electronic noise is that you don't really hear it until you remove it. After removal, you notice that you hear more layers in the recording and that there is space and air between everything that happens in the recording. The more noise you remove, the stronger this effect becomes and the more you get out of the recording and truly extract what's in your music. Coming back to the noise cancelling effect, a Tesla Coil ensures that noise passes through the coil, which activates the counter-coil. Because the counter-coil is wound in the opposite direction, it imitates the noise but out of phase, thereby cancelling the initial noise peak. One or more Tesla Coil(s) are placed in parallel with the signal path, so the signal doesn't go through all the coils, but the coils 'pick' the noise from your conductors from the side. All types of Tesla Coils are supportive and work together; the more Tesla Coils in your setup, the more noise cancelling and the more musical the sound.

Why was AARC developed? All conductors function as a kind of antenna that picks up signals from the air. That's why you can use a simple copper wire for a radio to listen to radio stations. What you don't want is for this interference to end up in your music signal, ethernet signal, or power signal in your equipment. The AARC functions as a kind of lightning rod for noise. External interference enters the AARC before reaching the conductors, and because the AARC consists of 2 coils with 1 wound in the opposite direction, the picked-up noise is eliminated.

Gold AARCs are very special because of the materials used, but also because every Gold AARC is completely handmade individually. This involves a lot of production time. Previously, AARCs were also handmade, but in the latest AGD equipment you now find the newest Gold AARC coils. They are now called Gold AARC because the solid-core copper coil is covered not only with silver but also with a layer of gold. Previously, this technique was only available in the flagship Gold Signature series of Ansuz Acoustics, but you now also find these coils in the latest X88 Aavik equipment and even in the Axxess Power Distributor SE and Network Switch SE. The AARC coils are applied either directly at the input (on the phase, neutral, and ground conductor at the AC input of the Axxess Power Distributor SE, for example) or at the output (such as the speaker outputs of Aavik amplifiers or analog outputs of Aavik SD-X88 streamer/DACs). What also makes the Gold AARC so effective is the fact that they counteract the antenna effect that all cables have, which allows them to pick up and eliminate a large amount of noise that would normally end up in the conductors. The effect of these Gold AARC coils is enhanced by a massive zirconium rod in the middle around which the coils are wound. The technique of placing a solid metal rod inside a coil to enhance the coil's effect has been known for some time, but designer Michael Børresen of Audio Group Denmark looks further than that and has discovered that zirconium provides much better sound compared to other metals for this application.
