Construction: All elements of the Gigawatt Powerprime are mounted in a new, rigid steel/aluminum chassis with a modular structure. The housing stands on anti-vibration feet, which ensure that the Gigawatt Powerprime is not affected by vibrations and resonances. The new front panel design is made from a thick piece of aerospace aluminum, whose surface is anodized in two color variants after precise milling: black or silver.
Connections: The Gigawatt Powerprime also indicates with an LED light when it is not connected with correct phase or without grounding. The Gigawatt Powerprime is equipped with six power outlets, divided over 3 zones, with connectors that are silver-plated without the use of intermediate metals such as copper or nickel layers, which can cause harmful series resistance and thus reduce voltage. A strong, stable connection, larger contact surface, and a thick layer of silver guarantee perfect contact with the plug pins. Additionally, the contact sockets are cryogenically treated and demagnetized.
Protection: The Gigawatt Powerprime has no traditional safety elements, such as fuses, which slow down the free flow of current and have a negative impact on sound. Overvoltage protection is performed by a safety block integrated into the filter, equipped with plasma spark bridges and a new generation of UltraMOV varistors. This method of protection does not or hardly restricts the flow of current and still provides good protection for both the Gigawatt Powerprime itself and the equipment connected to the Gigawatt.
Internal Wiring: All electronic components of the filter are mounted with silver solder on PCBs with extremely wide conductive traces made of pure copper (total thickness of conductive layers is as much as 70 micrometers). Due to short connections and a very large cross-section of the signal paths, transition resistance is reduced and the current capacity of the entire filter is significantly increased. The internal wiring is based on Gigawatt powercords of OHFC copper with a cross-section of 4mm2. Also included are large, pure distribution bars. The large cross-section of each distribution rail (30QMM) and high wiring conductivity ensure even and stable distribution of power to each output connection - regardless of the load on the other outputs of the Powerprime.
Buffers: The device uses a buffer system with a Gigawatt Audio Grade compensation battery, which increases power efficiency under non-linear loads, such as power amplifiers, and reduces the difference between the input and output power of the powerconditioner. This enables almost unlimited impulse capabilities, unheard of in other similar passive conditioners and unreachable for active power conditioners.
