General: The Aavik U-150 is a high-quality and modern integrated amplifier. This is the most complete edition, expanded to include the excellent DAC and Phono modules. This makes the Aavik U-150 extremely versatile.

Technical: The Aavik U-150 is a very powerful amplifier with extremely low distortion figures. The amplifier is a musical and very powerful Pascal UMAC class D module. With its 2 x 300 watts at 8 ohms and no less than 2 x 600 watts at 4 ohms, the Aavik U-150 is able to effortlessly drive virtually all speakers on the market. The DAC has sufficient connections and can convert PCM signals up to 32bit/192kHz. The USB-B input also accepts DSD64 and DSD128, but this is downsampled to high-res PCM. The phono stage is a fully discrete design with floating ground; the phono module design in the U-150 is created to achieve a very low noise floor. It is not a simple, cheap module; it is a truly complete phono preamplifier built into the U-150. This phono input is only suitable for MC cartridges. The display is very easy to read, even from large distances. Of course, this display can be dimmed or switched off completely. Remote operation can be performed using the included Apple remote.

Sound: The Aavik U-150 sounds spacious, tight and very dynamic. The reproduction is extremely effortless and in an organic and honest manner. Despite the transparent and airy character of the U-150, the sound never comes across as technical or analytical. The live feeling is present, and the emotional transfer is excellent. The Aavik U-150 can be combined with many types and brands of speakers; we have achieved excellent results with the speakers from sister brand Børresen Acoustics, as well as with speakers from Sonus Faber, or the electrostats from Magnepan or Analysis Audio.

This Aavik Acoustics U-150 is in excellent condition; the only notable aspect of the visual condition is a small piece of plastic that has broken off at the rear near the spare fuse holder, nothing to worry about. The amplifier is supplied in its original packaging including manual and Apple remote control for operation.
