General : The Antipodes K21 is the latest addition to the Antipodes Audio range. You could see the Antipodes K21 as an Antipodes S30 & S60 in 1 enclosure. The Antipodes K21 features a high-quality USB output and provides space for 1 SSD drive up to 8TB and external hard drives via USB. The K21 implements all new technologies delivered by the Antipodes OLADRA Project. Refinement, three-dimensionality, dynamics, timbre and resolution are exceptionally good and this is presumably the best sounding music server/streamer in its price range. The Antipodes K21 technically gets completely out of the way to let you fully experience the emotional impact of the original recording.

Technical Specifications : The Antipodes K21 features a tweaked version of the powerful V5X mainboard which is also in the Antipodes S30, called the V5.1X.In addition, it has the same powerful OLADRA power supply that you also find in the higher K30, K41 and K50 models from Antipodes Audio. In fact, the technology of the power supply is the same as that of the Antipodes S60, but the power supply in the K21 is larger and more powerful. The Antipodes K21 therefore sounds better than the S30 + S60 and the advantage is that you have 1 beautiful and large enclosure instead of 2 separate boxes. Cooling is done passively without moving parts such as a fan, the Antipodes K21 also never gets much warmer than comfortably warm and the K21 is extremely quiet. Easily install your own SSD in the K21, the K21 provides space for a single SSD with storage capacity up to 8TB. In addition, there are 2 USB inputs available for any external storage locations or connecting a CD ripper. The Antipodes K21 is not harder to operate than the average NAS or NUC, but it offers sound quality that is many times better than that of other storage locations. The Antipodes K21 is best used as a standalone device to function as both server & player and to connect directly to a DAC with a good USB cable. But you can also use the K21 as a player behind another music server with Direct Stream output such as the Antipodes S40 or K41. The K41 Server combined with the K21 player provides the best sound quality over USB that Antipodes Audio has to offer.

Software : The Antipodes K21 can be used with multiple software programs. We recommend using Roon, this is the most pleasant and comprehensive software and is ideal for people who want to combine their own music storage with music services such as Tidal or Qobuz. You can also use Spotify Connect or Shairport. In addition to Roon, you can also use other server software such as Squeezebox, Minimserver, MiniDLNA, HQplayer Server and Plex Media Server. The additional player functions are also MPD/DLNA or HQplayer, so it is also possible to use the Antipodes K21 as a player in Audirvana. All file formats can be played from MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, DXD and also DSD files.
