The Antipodes S40 is the new compact High Power music server from Antipodes Audio and is based on the advanced server and player engine that is used in the Antipodes K50, K40 and K30. The only compromise that has been made is the external power supply unit that comes as standard. This is an excellent entry-level power supply, but the audio performance can be drastically improved by adding the HSL50-based S60 power supply. With or without the S60, the audio performance of the S40 is excellent for the respective price ranges. The Antipodes S60 power supply has 2 outputs so you can excellently power an S40 and S30 with it, or an S30/40 with the fantastic S20 Reclocker.

Housing : The Antipodes S40 housing is made of solid aluminum plates which are machined ultra-precisely to size by the CNC milling machine. This applies to all S series models from Antipodes. Due to this CNC-milled housing, it is very stable, precise and vibration-resistant. This is very important because vibrations can negatively affect sound quality. Under the cabinet are silicone dampers, which make the housing very stable on any surface. The Antipodes S40 has a High Power mainboard with a powerful CPU capacity, which allows it to handle all server apps and player apps, and audiophiles who want to use heavy DSP functions, such as Upsampling to DSD or the Roon Room Corrector, will be well served by the powerful S40.
