The Antipodes S60 is an HSL50 power supply that can be used with any Antipodes music server that is externally powered. It will not only transform an Antipodes S20, S30 or Antipodes S40, but it will also dramatically upgrade the previous models, Antipodes DS, DS-GT, Core or EDGE music servers. The improvements in refinement, resolution, dimensionality, dynamics and musical expression are immediately noticeable and very essential for optimal music enjoyment. It is important to note that the S20, S30 and S40 are tuned for optimal performance with a very fast power supply. The standard included smps switched power supply is perfectly suitable to bring beautiful music from your S30 or S40. For much higher performance, however, the S60 power supply is ideal. Although you can also power a S20, S30 or S40 with a linear power supply from various power supply manufacturers, you will certainly lose some of the speed and excitement compared to using the S60. The S60 may seem like an expensive power supply until you hear what it can do. One of the greatest challenges and greatest influences on sound quality in digital audio is the power supply. Some manufacturers use standard smps power supplies and the result is a musically lively sound but the timbre and tone is not natural. An smps does have the speed needed in digital audio, but its high frequency noise is its weakness. Some manufacturers use huge linear power supplies, and the result is 'quite dull'. Perhaps a very nice tone and timbre, but also a somewhat dull playback of the music due to poor representation of speed and timing in the music, which characterizes the excitement and tension of real music.
