General: The Ansuz Acoustics Digitalz X3 is the latest entry-level digital interlink from Ansuz Acoustics from Denmark. The new Digitalz X3 now belongs to the Steel Series of Ansuz Acoustics. The Steel Series of Ansuz is called the Steel Series because the gold-plated connectors are housed in a stainless steel (CRES 316) enclosure. The predecessor of the Digitalz X3, the Digitalz X2, had connectors in an aluminum enclosure. And for Ansuz Acoustics, there is a problem with that. Audio Group Denmark (under which Ansuz falls) is constantly investigating different materials. Titanium, copper, stainless steel and even zirconium are very often used. Ansuz is working on avoiding aluminum completely in its new products. Aluminum has a negative effect on sound, it gives an artificial tone due to its resonance behavior and causes hysteresis. Rather than solving the problems caused by aluminum later, Audio Group Denmark has chosen to address the problem at the source and no longer use aluminum in its products. The conductors are silver-plated and are stripped by a special machine to avoid damaging the conductor surface. The Ansuz Digitalz X3 is a stiff solid-core cable with very good mechanical stability. The conductors are effectively insulated in Teflon, which is then wrapped with a mesh of tinned copper. The Ansuz Digitalz X3 is handmade at the Audio Group Denmark factory in Aalborg, Denmark.

Sound Characteristics: The Ansuz Acoustics Digitalz X3 has a natural and lively sound. The bass is tight and rhythmic and the dynamics are very good. Yet the sound remains within comfort boundaries, the sound is transparent as it should be but it is not unnecessary spectacle, just like all other cables and products from Ansuz Acoustics. Everything you hear is pure music, we could talk about the body of the bass and the detail in the treble. But at Ansuz Acoustics, we don't need to talk about that, instead we talk about the enormous musical qualities that Ansuz Acoustics products bring with them. The more affordable Ansuz Digitalz X3 is absolutely no exception here. The spatial imaging is large, airy and pleasant and you are immediately involved with the performers and the music. The time to listen to sounds is over, the time to listen to music has begun.
