General : The Bricasti MDx upgrade is a new processor board for your Bricasti DAC or DAC Preamp.

Technical : With the MDx board, Bricasti once again proves their vision for the digital world. Digital units should be upgradeable when advancing technology requires it. The Bricasti MDx upgrade board replaces your old digital input board in your Bricasti device. It is the new interface for all digital inputs. The Bricasti MDx features a new and highly advanced Analog Device ADSP-SC584 Shark Dual CPU on board. All filtering has been redesigned and improved. The upsampling methods have also been improved. Other critical processes such as clocking have also been greatly improved compared to the original boards. Left and right now have their own clock. The timing is better and the jitter is noticeably lower.

Sound : Everything sounds better with the new Bricasti MDx boards, that is immediately clear. The soundstage has noticeably expanded, and the dynamics and control are also clearly better. The differences are not subtle, but immediately audible. The MDx board needs to burn in of course, but after just one day you definitely cannot go back. In fact, your existing Bricasti DAC is completely up to date again, and has become significantly better. The upgrade is performed at Ohm-Audio BV in Groningen. You can bring your Bricasti unit in, or send it, and we install the board properly in the unit, test it, and then your Bricasti can return to you. We will need to know the serial number of your unit beforehand so we can install the correct board. If the board is not in stock with us, we will order the correct one from the manufacturer.
