General: The DS200 is the latest creation from McIntosh in America. It is a streamer-DAC combination. The quality is what you can expect from McIntosh: solid and reliable. The D/A Converter used is a Quad Balanced 32-bit DAC that features very high dynamic range and low distortion. This DAC can convert PCM signals up to 24bit/192kHz via SPDIF Coax and Toslink inputs, and via USB-B input PCM signals up to 32bit/384kHz and even DSD signals up to DSD256. The McIntosh DS200 has an excellent and versatile streamer on board. Playing streamed music can be done very simply in one of the following ways:

- Spotify Connect
- Apple Airplay
- RoonReady
- Google Cast
- Bluetooth (Qualcomm aptX)

Sound: Listening to the McIntosh DS200 is very recognizable for people familiar with McIntosh sound. You immediately hear a large, pleasant and detailed soundstage. The sound is very rich, comfortable and easy to get used to. Not a trace of harshness in the sound, yet no details are hidden; instead, the details are presented to you on a platter.
