General: The B&W 805 D4 is the standmount speaker from the current Diamond 4 series. The 805 D4 has been significantly improved musically compared to the D3 version.

Technology: The B&W 805 D4 is a very modern and stylish speaker. It uses a pure diamond tweeter for the high frequencies which sits in its own housing on top of the speaker. This housing is machined from a single block of aluminum and can move independently from the rest of the cabinet, thus decoupled from the woofer housing. The woofer is a Continuum driver as Bowers & Wilkins calls it, a woven composite material that has replaced the old yellow Kevlar woofers from B&W with the introduction of the D3 and 700-series speakers. Light, stiff and durable. The speaker cabinet is rounded and heavily constructed; this cabinet has virtually no resonance and is vented at the front through a bass reflex port. Because this port is at the front, it is possible to place the speakers somewhat closer to the rear wall.

Listening: In terms of sound quality, the B&W 805 D4 goes further than the D3 in terms of naturalness, spatiality and listening comfort without losing detailed reproduction. The B&W 805 D4 delivers a very complete performance for its size. The sound is neutral, very rich in detail but well balanced. The bass reproduction is tight and rhythmic, and the midtones and high frequencies are very pronounced and clean. All in all, the B&W 805 D4 is a beautifully finished and very musical speaker, especially for this second-hand price including the accompanying FS-805 D4 stands they are screwed to. Stylish and stable.

This set of B&W 805 D4 speakers is in excellent and undamaged condition and is supplied including the stands and accompanying accessories/booklets. The speakers and stands are not available for separate purchase. Unfortunately the original packaging has not been preserved, but the original foam pieces are included to guarantee safe transport in the back of your car.
