General : The Axxess Switch is an audiophile network switch from Audio Group Denmark's more affordable Axxess brand. The Axxess Switch shares many characteristics with the more expensive PowerSwitches from sister brand Ansuz Acoustics. The design philosophy of Audio Group Denmark focuses on a low noise floor and excellent resonance properties. The Axxess Switch is made in a specially designed enclosure that is not only stylish (designed by Flemming Rasmussen) but also functional, with excellent resonance characteristics. The sides and top consist of one thick piece of metal; this metal enclosure reduces vibrations and provides good shielding against magnetic interference. The bottom plate on which the electronics are mounted is made of a thick piece of natural wood composite that has very natural resonance behavior and provides a more organic sound. Between the bottom plate and the metal feet are also wooden discs that serve as a sandwich design for even better resonance control. The feet are designed to be ideally placed on the Axxess Noir or Ansuz Darkz decouplers using the Ansuz Titanium or Tungsten balls.

The enclosure of the Axxess Switch is the same as that of the Axxess Power Distributor and with the help of Ansuz titanium or tungsten balls these can be stacked and decoupled from each other without the assembly sliding apart and without scratches or marks on the lower device.

The power supply is the same silent Resonant Mode Power Supply used in the Ansuz PowerSwitches and Aavik Acoustics equipment. A good power supply is of enormous importance for every audio device, and network switches are very sensitive to this as well. The Resonant Mode Power Supply is one of the fastest and quietest power supplies on the market. An added benefit is that you don't need to invest extra money and space in a better external power supply.

Listening : The Axxess Switch provides improved clarity of the music. The layers in the recording become easier to hear, there is less resonance in the sound, and the music is more engaging to listen to. The soundstage is more 3D, airier, larger and more lively. At the same time, there is also more calmness; the sound is less fatiguing and there is more overview, which keeps the sound pleasant even during longer listening sessions.

For those who want an even lower noise floor, there is also an SE version of the Axxess Switch, which uses the latest Ansuz Gold Anti Aerial Resonance Coils for improved noise suppression, providing an even blacker and deeper background.
