General : The Axxess Switch SE is the special edition of the audiophile network switch from Audio Group Denmark's more affordable brand Axxess. The SE version features Ansuz Gold Anti Aerial Resonance Coil technology which the standard version does not have. The Axxess Switch SE therefore has an even lower noise floor and a more musical sound. The Axxess Switch SE shares many features with the more expensive PowerSwitches from sister brand Ansuz Acoustics. At the design philosophy of Audio Group Denmark, a low noise floor and good resonance properties are central. The Axxess Switch SE is made in a specially designed enclosure, this enclosure is not only stylish (design by Flemming Rasmussen) but also serves a function, namely having good resonance properties. The sides and top consist of one thick piece of metal, this metal enclosure ensures less vibrations and good shielding against magnetic interference. The bottom plate on which the electronics are mounted is made of a thick piece of natural wood composite which has very natural resonance behavior and provides a more organic sound. Between the bottom plate and the metal feet there are also wooden discs to serve as a sandwich design for even better resonance control. The feet are designed to be optimally placed on the Axxess Noir or Ansuz Darkz decouplers using the Ansuz Titanium or Tungsten balls.

The enclosure of the Axxess Switch SE is the same as that of the Axxess Power Distributor (SE) and with the help of Ansuz titanium or tungsten balls these can be stacked and decoupled from each other without the whole sliding apart and without scratches or marks on the lower device.

The power supply is the same silent Resonant Mode Power Supply which is also used in the Ansuz PowerSwitches and Aavik Acoustics equipment. A good power supply is of enormous importance for every audio device, network switches are also very sensitive to this. The Resonant Mode Power Supply is one of the fastest and quietest power supplies on the market. An extra advantage is that you do not need to invest extra money and space in a better external power supply.

Listening : The Axxess Switch SE provides improved intelligibility of the music. The layers in the recording are easier to hear, there is less resonance in the sound and the music is more engaging to listen to. The soundstage is more 3D, airier and larger and more lively. At the same time there is also more calm, the sound is less pressing on the ear and there is more clarity, which keeps the sound pleasant, even during longer listening sessions.

The Axxess Switch SE performs at an even higher level than the already excellent cheaper standard version of the Axxess Switch. The Switch SE provides better emotional transfer and intelligibility of the layers in the recording and a deeper, blacker background.
