The Doepke DFS 2 F is an audiophile residual current device (RCD). A residual current device is a safety switch that trips when current flows to earth, for example when someone inserts a metal object into a power socket. The RCD detects this and cuts off the entire power supply. Very safe, but an ordinary RCD is disastrous for the listening experience. The current flow is strongly restricted, and the soundstage collapses. The RCD sits in front of the circuit breakers, which are either MCBs or fuse holders. The best consumer unit switch to place after the RCD is the Gigawatt G-16A 2P.

The Doepke DFS 2 F was for a long time the reference RCD for audiophiles worldwide. Unfortunately they eventually became very expensive and people started looking for other options. We happened to trade in an unused Doepke DFS 2 F, complete in its original packaging. Now for a great price.
