The Doepke DFS 2 F is an audiophile residual current device. A residual current device is a safety switch that detects when current flows to earth, for example when someone inserts a metal object into a power socket. The residual current device measures this and cuts off all power. Very safe, but a regular residual current device is disastrous for the listening experience. The flow of current is strongly restricted, and the soundstage collapses. The residual current device sits in front of the circuit breakers, which are either miniature circuit breakers or fuse holders. The best consumer unit switch to place after the residual current device is the Gigawatt G-16A 2P.

The Doepke DFS 2 F was for a long time the reference residual current device for audiophiles worldwide. Unfortunately, they eventually became very expensive and people started looking for other options. We happened to trade in an unused Doepke DFS 2 F, complete in its original packaging. Now at a great price.
