Lector introduces the brand new ZOE Concept Studio tube line preamplifier. The Lector ZOE Concept Studio features a new and innovative power supply based on a parallel/shunt voltage regulator circuit. No active components in series with the power supply, only passive components such as high-grade resistors handle the voltage drop, while active components are connected in parallel to keep the output voltage stable. The new power supply of the Lector ZOE Concept Studio features a larger transformer and is external, ensuring the power supply does not cause interference within the preamplifier.

This new concept offers virtual zero ohm energy output to the tubes without requiring a large amount of Negative Feedback. In fact, the Lector ZOE Concept Studio is a Zero Negative Feedback design. The result is a remarkably musical performance without the typical lag effects caused by Negative Feedback.

Despite its simple basic design, the Lector ZOE Concept Studio features advanced solutions found nowhere else, not even in many times more expensive designs. Simplicity is and remains highly challenging in the audio world, and certainly not easy to achieve. A shunt regulator becomes hot and requires a very generous transformer and excellent heatsinks due to the full Class A operation.

The preamplifier gain stage is an all-tube, Class A design equipped with a pair of renowned 6922 tubes (standard) or 6H30Π (optional). The latter is a new and highly reliable Russian military tube designed in current production for very demanding applications, and this exceptional tube can deliver high current. Thanks to the innovative Audio Bias Circuit (SATC), the new Lector ZOE Concept Studio can also use a wide range of dual triodes such as 12AT7/12AU7/6CG7/12BH7/ECC802S to the user's preference.

And changing the different tubes has never been easier. A high-gloss black plexiglas plate on top of the Lector ZOE Concept Studio can be removed by simply unscrewing 4 screws, allowing you to change tubes without having to remove the entire top plate. Another small window on the front panel gives you a view of the tubes, while a back light illumination indicates the operational status.

The Lector ZOE Concept Studio has five line inputs, a mute/operate switch, auto-delay turn-on, and remote-controlled volume. There are also two sets of main outputs for, for example, the power amplifier and a subwoofer. Optional is a home theater direct output (HTD) which switches the input directly when the Lector Audio ZOE is switched off, bypassing the entire preamplifier circuit. This function is especially very useful in complex home theater installations, allowing you to route selected source signals to an external multichannel processor.

The sound quality of the Lector ZOE Concept Studio is pure enjoyment. Thanks to the completely new and proprietary Lector design with the shunt regulator, the Lector ZOE is aurally exceptionally pure and clean. The Class A tube output stage provides plenty of glow, but without the typical tube warmth caused by unskilled (too slow) design. We could spend many words describing its purity, its great dynamics, the airy soundstage, its accurate imaging, its ability to resolve subtle details and many other remarkable qualities of this preamplifier, but we would rather invite you to come and listen to the Lector ZOE.

Differences between the Lector Audio ZOE and the Lector Audio ZOE Concept Studio:

1.) The standard ZOE features an excellent ALPS potentiometer as volume control, the ZOE Concept Studio has a very high-quality custom TKD volume control of superior quality. The TKD volume control is based on a ladder circuit for constant impedance.

2.) The ZOE has an internal power supply, the ZOE Concept Studio has a superior external power supply with a larger transformer. Because the power supply in the ZOE Concept Studio is external, there is no interference/noise from the power supply in the preamplifier circuits.

3.) The ZOE Concept Studio features ultra high grade film and foil capacitors for the signal path, only 1 per output channel.

4.) The ZOE Concept Studio has different circuit boards with optimized layout, which is possible because the power supply is external and therefore takes up no space inside the preamplifier.

5.) In the ZOE Concept Studio, better components with more precision have been used in various places.
