General: The PSI Audio AVAA C214 is a compact active bass trap for improving bass quality in your room. With just one PSI Audio AVAA C214, you can already significantly improve the sound.
Operation & Placement: The PSI Audio AVAA C214 works on the basis of pressure detection, so you ideally want to place the AVAA C214 in a location where a lot of pressure builds up—in the corner of the room, that is. Preferably in the corner(s) behind your speakers. The PSI Audio AVAA C214 reduces the acoustic impedance of the air in these pressure areas, thereby slowing the speed of sound waves and reducing the amount of pressure being transferred from the pressure zone to the listening position. The PSI Audio AVAA C214 does not absorb sound, but reduces resonance that builds up from pressure. The first sound wave is not immediately captured and absorbed; for example, a bass tone coming from your speakers is not immediately sucked up, which would cause you to miss the information in the low-frequency response. Instead, the bass tone does not get the chance to build up pressure in a corner and then arrive at the listening position amplified and distorted. The PSI Audio AVAA C214 operates at frequencies from 15 Hz to 160 Hz. You control the PSI Audio AVAA C214 easily with the PSI Audio app for iOS or Android, connecting the AVAA C214 wirelessly to your network, or you can use the buttons on the AVAA C214 itself.
Effect: The PSI Audio AVAA C214 is easy to audition in our listening room. At home, the effect is immediately noticeable when switching the PSI Audio AVAA C214 on and off. As soon as you turn on the PSI Audio AVAA C214, you immediately notice that the bass becomes tighter, more controlled, cleaner, more pleasant, and less muddled, and furthermore also simply more musical.
