Technology : The Aavik Acoustics P-580 is a very powerful and highly musical stereo power amplifier equipped with many innovative technologies. Compared to the P-280, we see the following improvements. The inner chassis is made of pure copper. The top plate is fitted with a solid titanium cross for resonance control. The feet are made of solid titanium. Switchless input gain. Furthermore, the P-580 features the usual technologies, but taken much further. The power supply is the Resonant Mode Power Supply. This is not a standard switched mode PSU, but the RMPS works with sine waves instead of square waves. When more power is required, the internal frequency increases, thereby increasing the power output. Innovative and highly efficient. The power supply in the Aavik Acoustics P-580 delivers 10 times more power than necessary, so it is clearly heavily over-dimensioned. The single-ended driver stage is fully discrete, and the core Pascal output amplifier are embedded in an array of excellent Ansuz technologies to keep the entire design as quiet as possible. In every respect. So not only is noise at the RCA inputs addressed, but aerial pollution from WiFi, 3G, 4G, 5G, DECT and so on are effectively suppressed through various Tesla coils. The chassis is warm and anti-resonant. No stiff, cold, and hard materials, but natural materials to keep internal mechanical resonance as low as possible. Metal feet are placed under the chassis, designed to perfectly accommodate optional Ansuz Acoustics Darkz anti-resonance feet. Listening : The Aavik Acoustics P-580 is an excellent-sounding power amplifier. The control is phenomenal, over the bass as well as over the rest of the frequency spectrum. The sound is blissfully clean and absolutely musical. Not clinical. The dynamics are overwhelming, yet very well balanced. Not peaky, but very refined. The 3D image is large and very well organized. Everything is in its place and very easy to locate. While the Aavik Acoustics P-580 may be compact, the sound image is not. The P-580 simply sounds incredibly musical, and that is something often lacking in modern amplifiers that only want to sound fast and spectacular.
